Google alum Dave Girouard joins Yesware board
Yesware, with funding from Google Ventures, gets a Googler aboard as Dave Girouard signs on for board duties.
David Girouard, who helped entrench Google Apps in business accounts (with actual paying customers), is now on the board of Yesware.
This is a coup for Yesware, the Boston-based startup that helps sales and marketing people assess how effective email campaigns are by tracking who opens what and when. A big part of that story is that Yesware’s service integrates with Gmail and contacts as well as with Salesforce.com, synchronizing appointments between Gmail and Salesforce.com accounts for example.
Girouard, who was president of Google Enterprise, left the mothership last year to found Upstarts, a startup that helps promising college students find mentors and funding for their own startup ideas. Both Upstarts and Yesware have funding from Google Ventures.
Other Yesware board members are company CEO Matthew Bellows and co-founder Rajat Bhargava as well as Foundry Group’s Brad Feld, and Google Venture’s Rich Miner.
